BECOMING A LOCAL GOVERNMENT COUNCILLOR,WHAT YOU SHOULD KNOW BEFORE YOU NOMINATE TO BE ONE!8 September at 20:25 from atlas
Nominating as a candidate in local government elections is an important step in a democratic process.
If elected, you will have a special opportunity to serve as a community leader and to participate in important decisions. You will also need to understand the legal implications and obligations of Councillors.
In these writings we do not question the legal status of Local Government in relation to the Constitution.
Also we do not agree with the practices of PAST and PRESENT COUNCILLORS who have used ratepayers funds to learn how to be a COUNCILLOR.
If you are going to serve the community having that knowledge is PARAMOUNT for a good candidate.
